Fighting Illini -12 vs Golden Gophers
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are looking pretty good so far this season at 5-1 coming into their match up against the Fighting Illini who will try to stay above .500 at 3-2.
Illinois is coming into Saturday's match up against the Golden Gophers with some much needed momentum after beating Michigan in a high scoring affair 45-20 last week.
Illini quarterback Juice Williams, which is the coolest name in football by the way, burst onto the scene last week by putting up some huge numbers against the Wolverines. Williams accounted for 435 yards of Illinois' offense in last week's lopsided victory. With 310 yards passing and 121 yards on the ground, Williams was virtually unstoppable for Illinois.
Although Illinois has two losses, they were against very good football teams. The first loss was against Missouri in an offensive battle 52-42 which could have gone either way. The second loss was against Penn State 38-24. Both of these teams are title contenders right now and the Fighting Illini almost took them the distance.
With that being said, Minnesota will be in for an offensive display put on Juice and his Fighting Illini this week. If Illinois keeps their high powered offense clicking and get the victory over the Gophers, they should get consideration for next week's top 25 rankings.
